These eye-catching images cover British productions of the great classics by Shakespeare and Bernard Shaw; contemporary playwrights such as Ivor Novello, Noel Coward and Edgar Wallace; actors include Henry Irving, John Gielgud, Fay Compton, Laurence Olivier, Gracie Fields, Stanley Lupino.
