It has been announced that Cambridge academic, Dr Stephen Pax Leonard, has set out to document the Inughuit language, which is predicted to die out in ten to fifteen years’ time due to climate change. The Inughuits were first ‘discovered’ by Scottish explorer Captain John Ross in 1818.

The Lebrecht Photo Library has a fantastic selection of rare drawings from the journal of Captain John Ross available online at www.lebrecht.co.uk.
